USA recently installed an all new AWEsome Water gallery with plenty of fun interactions for kids to learn the awesome power of water!
USA was excited to build a completely custom, hand-sculpted Stream Table to go along with a beautiful magnetic play water wall and 7-foot tall water wheel! The new Stream Table utilizes USA’s innovative production methods to allow this incredibly flexible exhibit to be reproduced in an endless number of different meandering shapes, just like a real stream!
Congratulations to Hormel Foods’ SPAM® Museum and the community of Austin, Minnesota. The museum was awarded with Attraction of the Year award at the Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference! Read more about the award here.
Opening in April of 2016, USA refurbished, fabricated and installed the exhibits in the 8,000 square foot museum, which just recently saw it’s 100,00th visitor!
USA recently completed fabrication and installation of a giant bar graph at the historic Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. The bar graph illustrates incarceration statistics, creating a dialogue about the subject matter with great visual impact. Having worked with Eastern State on two previous projects, we understand their specific challenges in creating new exhibits at a historic site.
We worked closely with Sean and Breanna to develop material and finish samples that would define the aesthetics of the Big Graph. Once we all decided that powder coated steel with water jet cut numbering was the answer, we quickly got to work detailing construction methods, and fabricating the graph to withstand long term outdoor weather conditions.
The Big Graph sits on concrete piers, with internal framework supporting each panel.
The opening reception was held on a beautiful summer evening here in Philadelphia.
USA recently completed an eight-foot, outdoor, LED cube display, installed at the Kimmel Center to kick off the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts. The Cube, as we affectionately call it, was conceptualized by Red Tettemer and Edwards Technologies, Inc. as advertising for the festival and was brought to life by USA to remain a permanent fixture at the Kimmel Center.
Our scope of work included management, design, engineering, fabrication of the steel framework, integration of the LED display components and installation. USA started the project by taking a careful site survey of the dedicated space for dimensions and wind load assessment at the corner of Spruce and Broad Street, just down the street from City Hall. We took the lead role in providing the project team with drawings, material specifications, outdoor site conditions, engineering calculations and stamps to certify that control documents met all safety standards and the piece would be structurally sound.
